Restorative Sleep for Happiness
May 29, 2023Spring has unfolded its vibrant hues, and we find ourselves in the enchanting embrace of late spring. As the days grow longer and the world bursts forth with newfound energy, we have a unique opportunity to observe and align ourselves with the bountiful wisdom of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine and holistic living.
As we all know, quality sleep is an essential component of Ayurvedic well-being and happiness.
During late spring, when the days lengthen, it is still important to maintain a consistent sleep routine and go to bed by 10pm.
Create a peaceful sleep sanctuary by keeping your bedroom cool, dark, and free from distractions.
Engage in a calming bedtime routine, such as reading a book or enjoying a warm herbal tea. Other options include practicing relaxation techniques like massaging the soles of your feet with a little sesame oil, listening to a yoga nidra or guided meditation, or taking long, deep breaths while extending the exhale.
Prioritizing restful sleep ensures you wake up feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to embrace the day.
Nourish yourself through rest, even when it stays lighter, later in the day! Late spring invites us to blossom into happiness by harmonizing with the wisdom of Ayurveda and the natural world around us. As we nurture balance, embrace rest AND movement.
With love and light,
