Cooling Jar of Chia
Jul 22, 2024The Summertime heat can create dryness in our bodies. Internal support for moisture, and a fiber boost for elimination, can be found in this simple dish. Serve this for breakfast or dessert.
Jar of Chia
Fill a 1 quart jar with water or coconut milk.
Leave an inch of room at the top.
Add 1/2 cup chia seeds.
Screw on the lid. Shake vigorously for 1-2 minutes.
Rest the jar on its side.
Shake again a few minutes later. Repeat a few times.
Put it in the fridge. Leave at least 3 hours, or overnight.
When ready to eat the chia pudding, pour a serving into a small pot and warm it on low heat.
You can add soaked nuts or nut butter, maple syrup, cocoa powder, cacao nibs, and/or cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom for different flavor and texture combinations.
Food combining tip: If you end up adding any fruit to this pudding, make sure it is as a stand-alone meal and not as a dessert to a meal containing any beans, meat, or dairy. Otherwise, you are creating toxic goo in your gut = no fun!
